Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 8 oz. penne pasta
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • large pot
  • large skillet
  • whisk
  • cutting board
  • Chef's knife

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes and sear them on all sides until they develop a nice crust, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Whisk continuously until the cream begins to thicken, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked penne and the seared steak cubes to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is evenly coated in the creamy sauce.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the Creamy Steak Pasta immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly chopped parsley, if desired.

Notes

For best results, sear the steak cubes first to develop a nice crust, then add them back to the creamy sauce. This ensures the steak remains tender and juicy. The starch from the pasta helps thicken the sauce to a velvety consistency. Adjust the amount of Parmesan cheese to your desired level of creaminess.
